Aly Ahmed

Assalamualaikum, my name is Aly Ahmed, I have a PhD in Civil Engineering, and I am working at Western University. My vision as a board of director at LMM is to make Islamic Education available for all families and support youth activities.

I contributed to many activities at LMM such as:
• Serving as a member of director in LMM board for more than 3 years.
• Liaison of the Quran Hafiz Program (QHP), and Weekend Islamic School (WLIS) in the LMM board.
• Member of Quran Hafiz Program (QHP) committee.
• Former chair of Transparency, Accountability, and Communication Committee (TACC) at LMM.
• Organizing many youth activities at LMM such as sleepovers, camps, and Fajr soccer program.

Some contributions I had in the Muslim Society when I was living in Japan were:
• General Secretary of Muslim Student Association in Japan (MSAJ).
• President of Kiryu Muslim Association in Gunma University, Japan.
• Contributed to the establishment of the International Online Quran Program in Japan.
• Helped establish the first Mosque in Kiryu, Japan.
• Contributed in many activities to support development, leadership, and stability of the Muslim society in Kiyru, Japan.

 

 

Aya Algheriany  

My name is Aya Algheriany, a Western University Graduate, Registered Dietitian by profession and a mother of 2 children. ElhamduAllah, I was blessed with numerous opportunities to serve the Muslim community since I was a student at Western. I served as an Operations Manager at a local Muslim Community Centre for almost 4 consecutive years. I currently volunteer with a local Muslim organization to develop and implement diverse programs that meet the changing needs of individuals in our Muslim community and the London community at large. I wholeheartedly welcome every opportunity to serve Islam and my Ummah

 

 

 

 

Bilal Rahhal

My name is Bilal Rahhal. I came to Canada from Kuwait in 1989. Although I graduated with an electrical engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario, I have spent my entire career in sales, marketing, client relations, and business development. At present, I manage a private equity fund that invests in Energy, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Medical, and Real-Estate Development opportunities.  

In 2016, I led an intensive 4-month strategic planning program through the Strategic Planning Committee at the London Muslim Mosque (LMM), with active participation from over 40 community members from diverse backgrounds. The outcome of these sessions was a collection of recommendations and alternatives that the Committee offered to the mosque. 

I am running for the LMM Board to ensure that we accomplish the recommendations provided by the Strategic Planning Committee, and to enhance the critical aspects of inclusion and communication. My goal is to help establish a platform at the LMM that will inspire young Muslims to get involved and take an active role in making the LMM an extraordinary place to work, volunteer, and visit.

 

 

Hashem Ramadan

My name is Hashem Ramadan, I was born and raised in Palestine. I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from Egypt (1979). I worked for 26 years in the oil industries as a Chemical engineer. I retired early in 2006. We have been moved to Canada and lived  in London on1997. I volunteered on the LMM board for more than 10 years. I was the treasurer of LMM for almost around 8 years. I was also involved with most of the LMM committees such as Social, funeral, QHP,WLIS, and Fundraising Committees, for many years. I ran the Ramadan daily Iftars and taking care of the kitchen and selling Jomaa Fatayer for more than 10 years. Insha'Allah, I am running for the upcoming election to help and to make the LMM more productive, engage our youth and attract them back to the house of Allah. May Allah accept from all of us our good intentions and may Allah help us to serve our Muslim community in the best way.

 

 

Hesham Al Naggar

Dr. El Naggar is a Distinguished University Professor of Western University, and served as Associate Dean of Engineering for 14 years. He is Editor-In-Chief of Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering and past Associate Editor of the Canadian Geotechnical Journal. He consulted on major projects worldwide. He received numerous awards including: Geosynthetics, Stermac, Meyerhof, Canadian Geotechnical Colloquium Speaker, Western University Professorship, Faculty Scholar Award, Outstanding Teaching, and Research Excellence Awards as well as the 2015 Ontario Professional Engineers Medal for Engineering Research & Development. He is an elected Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada and the American Society for Civil Engineers.
Hesham has served as Director of LMM Board starting 1991. He served as Vice Chair for LMM Board several terms and served as Chair of LIS for 10 years. 

 

 

Mounib Chadi

I was born in Canada, grew up in Libya and Lebanon, then moved back to Canada for grade 12 in 2002.I have a background in mechanical engineering, but enjoy building, operating and growing businesses.

I have a keen interest in serving the community by contributing to more success and growth of the London Islamic School to empower our next generation with a strong Islamic foundation that will help them stay on the straight path.

 

 

 

 

Sobhi ElSayed 

 
Sobhi Elsayed was born in Karoun, Lebanon in 1940 and moved to London, Ontario, Canada in 1956. 
 
Mr. Elsayed participated in a group that helped build the foundation of the London Muslim Mosque in the spring of 1962. He moved to Windsor, Ontario 1965 and joined the Windsor Islamic Association. In Windsor, he was part of a group of 35 Muslims involved in planning the build of the Windsor Mosque on 1320 Northwood Street (which was completed in 1970). Between 1965 and 1979, he worked at Chrysler Motor Company (Windsor Automotive Plant) as an assembly line Welder. In the 1980's he opened a souvenir shop on Huron Church Road close to the U.S. border.  In 1990, Mr. Elsayed took part in the activities that led to the expansion of the Windsor Mosque.
 
Mr. Elsayed moved back to London, Ontario in 1992. Since coming back to London, he has been an active participant at the Islamic Centre of South West Ontario and a member of the London Muslim Mosque. In 2011, he participated in the expansion of the Islamic Centre of South West Ontario, including the development of the Centre's new parking lot between 2011 and 2017. He continues to participate in many of the Islamic activities in the City of London, Ontario.
